Human interaction
Feeding a Steller's Jay a potato or a corner of your sandwich seems like no big deal but, feeding these birds is changing the very ecology of their ecosystem. By feeding theses birds we are giving them all the food they need to enlarge their population too quickly and too massively which is putting a strain on their environment. the growth of the Jay population is harming other animals too like the Marbled Murrlete, a shy sea bird who's protected by the government. “Human food can really have an impact on birds. And not only these birds that we know are attracted to it,” said Goldenberg. “There’s this cascading effect that that could have on the rest of the environment.” -Writter Nala Rogers
The human impact on the Steller's Jay is significant in that we are not only changing the behavior of these bird but changing their habitat and threatening other species.

The stigmas surrounding Steller's jay is that the make way too much noise steal the food from your campsite or picnic area.
